THE WORKSHOP & ITS PEOPLE
About the Company & Our Craftspeople
Our company was established in 2002.
Before that, the core team worked on the restoration of intricate and unique furniture from Moscow museum collections and private collections.
Director Mikhail Karvasovsky is a furniture restorer who has worked in the profession since 1972.
Architect Nikolay Volkov, a recipient of awards from the Union of Designers, taught furniture construction and design at the Stroganov Moscow Academy of Arts and Industry for several years.
Over the years, the team has created furniture collections and individual pieces in a range of styles: Baroque, Rococo, Classicism, Empire, Eclecticism, Art Nouveau, Art Deco and Argonica.
Among these are one-of-a-kind works: “The Kitchen Struck by a Meteorite”, “The Great Flood” library, “Memories of Egypt”, and the “Crumpled” and “Plasticine” collections.
Our collection of original armchairs includes “Nostradamus”, “The Bat”, “Demiurge”, “Mystery”, “The Master”, “The Shah” and “Dark Side of the Moon”.
Our craftspeople have also reproduced exceptionally intricate furniture, including a marquetry table depicting a panorama of Kuskovo and “The Arcadian Shepherds” table.
Our craftspeople work with the full range of techniques and technologies used to make and decorate artistic furniture.
Our Creative Approach to Furniture
Fantasy Style Furniture
by ATUM DESIGN GROUP
by ATUM DESIGN GROUP
ATUM is our shorthand for an academy of creativity and unique craftspeople.
Real craftspeople can create furniture for you that feels almost unreal:
fantastically beautiful
fantastically stylish
fantastically imaginative
fantastically original
fantastically extraordinary
fantastically breathtaking
And simply fantastically fantastic.
And, amusingly enough, we are rather good at making straightforward furniture too…
We also have a special interest in gifts.
Those are something we need to dream up with you in advance…
Although we sometimes have something extraordinarily interesting tucked away already.
